The surprising Premier League table since Everton appointed Sean Dyche

Sean Dyche has been Everton’s manager for almost a year and we’ve taken a look at the Premier League table during that timespan to assess his impact at Goodison Park.

“It’s an honour to become Everton manager. My staff and I are ready and eager to help get this great club back on track,” Dyche told Everton’s official website after replacing Frank Lampard.

“I know about Everton’s passionate fanbase and how precious this club is to them. We’re ready to work and ready to give them what they want. That starts with sweat on the shirt, effort and getting back to some of the basic principles of what Everton Football Club has stood for a long time.

“We want to bring back a good feeling. We need the fans, we need unity and we need everyone aligned. That starts with us as staff and players.”

Dyche kept them up narrowly last season and made an encouraging start to the 2023-24 campaign before the club were deducted 10 points for breaching financial fair play rules.

“The club believes that the commission has imposed a wholly disproportionate and unjust sporting sanction,” a club statement read.

“The club does not recognise the finding that it failed to act with the utmost good faith and it does not understand this to have been an allegation made by the Premier League during the course of proceedings.

“Both the harshness and severity of the sanction imposed by the commission are neither a fair nor a reasonable reflection of the evidence submitted.”

The deduction leaves Everton in the relegation zone and two points from safety. Despite the presence of several weak teams at the bottom, Dyche will need to dig deep to ensure the Toffees survive.

Everton have averaged just over one point per game with Dyche at the helm, which might not be enough to keep them up when all is said and done. How does Dyche’s tenure at Goodison Park look when you view it as a whole in comparison to the rest of the division?

Here’s how the table looks since Dyche was appointed as Everton’s manager back in January. Every side has played 30 matches unless otherwise stated.
