The 13 teenagers more valuable than Kobbie Mainoo according to Transfermarkt
Kobbie Mainoo is undoubtedly one of the top prospects in world football right now, but there are 13 teenagers with a higher market value than the Manchester United youngster according to Transfermarkt.
The 18-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a stunning breakthrough campaign with the Red Devils and he’s currently valued at £30million as per Transfermarkt.
We’ve taken a closer look at some of the top prospects from around the globe and have identified the 13 teenagers with a higher market value than Mainoo.
13. Rico Lewis – £32.6million
The Manchester City youngster has been around for slightly longer than Mainoo, which no doubt contributes to his slightly higher market value.
A highly versatile player who is capable of playing a number of roles under Pep Guardiola, the future for Lewis looks very bright indeed.
12. Savio – £34.3million
The Brazilian winger is on the books of Ligue 2 outfit Troyes, although he’s never made an appearance for the French club. He’s spent the last three years out on loan and is currently enjoying his best season to date with Girona.
In La Liga, he’s produced 15 goal contributions this season and has played a key role for Michel’s side who sit third in the league.
On the back of his impressive form, Man City have reportedly struck a deal with Troyes to bring him to the Premier League next season. We can’t wait to see more of him in the coming years.
11. Mathys Tel – £34.3million
Playing the role of a backup striker isn’t always easy, but Tel is among the best in the business in that role. Despite only starting in five games this season, the 19-year-old has managed to bag eight goals across all competitions.
Impressively, he’s averaging a goal contribution every 80.9 minutes for Bayern Munich right now. If he maintains that sort of ratio throughout his career, he’ll go down as one of the best strikers of all time.
10. Alejandro Garnacho – £34.3million
Along with Mainoo, Garnacho has been one of the bright sparks in an otherwise inconsistent year for the Red Devils. With nine goals and four assists, the Argentine winger has been among United’s most productive players this season.
As per Transfermarkt, he’s valued at £34.3million which is slightly more than Mainoo at this point in time. However, if both players continue to develop at their current rate, they’ll be worth a hell of a lot more in the years to come.

9. Leny Yoro – £34.3million
The towering French defender is being linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs right now. Given his excellent form for Lille of late, it’s no wonder that so many top sides are sniffing around.
In recent months the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid and PSG have been linked with the 18-year-old centre-half.
Transfermarkt have given him a market value of £34.3million, although it’s going to take a lot more than that to get him out of Lille.
8. Vitor Roque – £34.3million
Having recently made the switch from Brazil to Barcelona, Roque is all the talk in Catalonia right now. In just 214 minutes of La Liga football, the Brazilian forward has already managed to bag himself two goals.
It’s still early days for the 19-year-old in Barcelona, but all of the early signs point towards him being a superstar in the future. Watch this space.

7. Samu Omorodion – £34.3million
Atletico Madrid fans will be keen to see more of Omorodion in the coming years. The 19-year-old forward joined Diego Simeone’s side in the summer and was immediately sent out on loan to Alaves.
Omorodion has done well during his loan spell by scoring eight goals in 28 appearances so far. Standing at 6ft 4in, he looks like the perfect striker for Simeone.

The Benfica midfielder has a £103million release clause in his contract and it could take that sort of fee to prize him out of Portugal this summer.
Plenty of top European sides have been keeping tabs on Neves of late and for good reason. The 19-year-old is among Portugal’s top prospects and the midfielder is already garnering plenty of hype.
“He is an excellent player and an excellent kid. He will have a bright future wherever he goes,” Bruno Fernandes told reports when discussing his international teammate.

4. Evan Ferguson – £51.5million
The potential with Ferguson is undeniable. While the Brighton forward has lost his place in the starting XI of late, we’re sure that he’ll be back to his best in no time.
“Well, I don’t know the plan of next year or next season, but Ferguson is still an important player for us,” Roberto De Zerbi told reporters when discussing the forward.
“He’s very young and when you are so young you can suffer in some periods and in others play well.
“Because in the first part of the season he scored a lot of goals, and we knew before the season he could play not all the games in the first XI, but we are happy for him and lucky that we have a lot of young players of this level.”
3. Warren Zaire-Emery – £51.5million
A starter at PSG and part of the French national team? Zaire-Emery has all of the tools to go to the very top.
Still just 18 years old, the midfielder plays with maturity beyond his years and it’s no surprise that he’s the joint-third most valuable teenager in the world right now.
“He’s an astonishing player,” Luis Enrique told reporters when discussing Zaire-Emery earlier in the season. “Pressure, dribbling, positioning on the field, he scores and provides goals.
“He is the perfect example for all the young players who aspire to be part of PSG. If they want to look up to a high-level role model, they should look at him.”
2. Lamine Yamal – £64.3million
The term generational is thrown around quite flippantly these days, but Yamal certainly fits the criteria.
He’s the youngest player on this entire list and he’s only just pipped to the first spot. Given he’s just 16 years of age, it’s mind-boggling to think of what the Spanish youngster is already capable of.
He drifts past defenders with ease and crucially, he’s got the end product to back it up too. Yamal is only just getting started, we can’t wait to see what the next few years have in store.

1. Gavi – £77.2million
The future at Barcelona seems bright as three of the 13 most valuable teenagers in world football are currently playing at Camp Nou.
It feels as if Gavi has been around for years now, but he’s still only 19 years old. The teenage midfielder has already racked up over 100 appearances for Barcelona and he’s been capped 27 times by Spain.
Given his pedigree and potential, we can’t argue with his £77.2million market value.
