There is a record amount of money sloshing around in football right now and clubs from the Premier League, Ligue 1, La Liga and Bundesliga are among the most valuable in the world.
It will come as no surprise to learn that the Premier League dominates the top 10, with each of the traditional top six making an appearance, although perhaps not in the order you would expect.
Thanks to Forbes, we have been able to rank the 10 most valuable football clubs in the world as of 2023.
10. Arsenal – $2.26billion
There’s no denying that Arsenal are a football club on the up right now. Mikel Arteta has assembled one of the most valuable squads in world football and it feels as if they are only getting started.
Provided they continue on the same trajectory over the next few seasons, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Arsenal leapfrog a few of the sides above them in due course.
9. Tottenham – $2.8billion
Tottenham fans can claim the North London bragging rights here. Spurs sit just above their Premier League rivals with a club value of $2.8billion according to Forbes.
While Spurs have endured a trophyless decade, their revenues have continued to soar. Having qualified for the Champions League in five of the last eight seasons and recently built a new state-of-the-art stadium, Spurs comfortably sit alongside Europe’s elite clubs.
8. Chelsea – $3.1billion
Todd Boehly and his associates bought Chelsea for around $5.2billion last year, which is almost $2billion more than the club is currently valued at.
Chelsea’s revenue stream will no doubt be hit by the lack of European football this season, but they will be sure to return to the top in no time.
7. PSG – $4.21billion
Perhaps the most chaotic football club in Europe, there’s rarely a dull day at PSG. While the French club have often come unstuck on the pitch, particularly in the Champions League, they still firmly hold down a seat at the top table.
The future of Kylian Mbappe has got everyone talking this summer, but Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi will be keen to iron out that situation as soon as possible.

6. Bayern Munich – $4.68billion
In many ways, Bayern are run like the ideal football club. They rarely overextend themselves in the transfer market – except for Harry Kane – and yet they regularly go deep in Europe and come out on top of their domestic league.
5. Manchester City – $4.99billion
After almost a decade of dominance in the Premier League, there’s no doubt that Man City now belong in this elite category. The club recently announced record revenues of $815million, which is more than any other football club on the planet.
Fresh off winning the treble, it feels as if Pep Guardiola’s latest squad is only just getting started. Strap yourselves in because City aren’t going away any time soon.
4. Liverpool – $5.29billion
The Reds have managed their finances well over the years as the club has made great strides on and off the pitch. They have continued to redevelop Anfield and have a squad which is capable of competing at the very top.
3. Barcelona – $5.51billion
Despite the financial turmoil the club have been in of late, Barcelona still rank as the third most valuable club in the world. The club had to get creative with their finances last summer by pulling several financial levers, but things seem to be smoothing out now.
Fresh off winning the La Liga title, Forbes have given Barcelona a club value of $5.51billion, which is a 10% increase from last year’s numbers.
2. Manchester United – $6.0billion
Despite their post-Sir Alex Ferguson troubles, the Red Devils continue to come out on top when it comes to finances. Of the top 10 most valuable clubs, United actually saw the biggest overall increase from last year with a 30% one-year value change.

1. Real Madrid – $6.07billion
Were you expecting anyone else? There’s a certain prestige that comes with Real Madrid and it’s no real surprise to see them topping this list once again.
The club continue to be successful on the pitch and they have made great strides off it as well. The €1billion rebuild of the Bernabeu is almost complete and they have some of the best players in the world in their squad right now.
